• identify methods that can be used to integrate patient safety into education and practice;
• construct an interprofessional safety learning opportunity.

Susan Brien is The Canadian Patient Safety Institutes’ Director of Operations for Quebec, Atlantic Canada & Nunavut. As a practicing neurosurgeon, a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neurosurgery and with a Masters of Education from the University of Toronto (Higher Education), Dr. Brien is committed to ongoing education for practitioners and promoting the valuable role that education plays in the safety and care of patients and their families. Dr. Brien is also a Certified Physician Executive with the American College of Physician Executives.
